Welcome to the Cherry Pie Bernina Class Programme for 2010
We have an exciting class programme for you this year with something old and something new.
We are working in developing our range and style of classes so suggestions are welcome.
Christmas Club Mystery Projects (Monthly)
13 August / 17 September / 15 October / 19 November 2010 plus a Special Event 15 December
Time: 10am to 12.30pm / 6.30pm – 9pm
Class Fee: $30 per class (Includes a class fee and $20 kit.)
Tutors: Cherry Pie Bernina Staff
These 2 hour classes designed for all skill levels.
Christmas and Surprises go hand in hand so…
Come along each month for 4 months and complete a mystery Christmas project.
Payment for each month is made before the next class to ensure your place.
The cost of this class includes a class fee of $10 plus $20 for a kit
Note: As some class members may be faster than others there may be a need to add finishing touches to your project at home.
Sew Passionate Learn to Sew First Beginner Classes (Four 6 week class sets)
Starting Wednesday 8th September 2010
Running: Each term for six weeks 10am - 12pm / 7pm – 9pm Wednesdays
Class Fee: $80.00 per set of 6 lessons ($15 per lesson) Class Sewing machines are available.

At Cherry Pie Bernina we are passionate about sewing. Come and learn to sew clothing and fashion garments.
These six week classes are designed to teach you the basics… from threading a machine, to cutting out a pattern and creating a garment.
Begin with instructed lessons and projects and then let us help you choose a simple pattern, learn how to read it, choose the right fabric, cut it out, and finally construct your garment with all the finishing such as zips, button holes and hems.
Note: There will be homework during this course and as some class members may be faster than others there may be a need to add finishing touches to your project at home.
Sew Passionate Patchwork Quilting for Beginners Classes (Four 6 week classes)
Starting Monday New Beginners Class Set 1 (6 weeks) 26 July 2010
Tuesday New Beginners Class Set 1 (6 weeks) 24 August 2010 10am and 7pm
Monday Beginners Classes Set 2 (6 weeks) 6 September 10 am and 7pm
Running: Each term for six weeks 10am- 12pm and 7pm – 9pm Mondays
Class Fee: $90.00 per set of 6 lessons ($15per lesson)
Class Sewing machines can be available.

At Cherry Pie Bernina we are passionate about patchwork too!
Come and join our beginner patchwork and quilting classes.
Set 1: New Beginners. The first set of six week classes are designed to teach you the basics. You will learn how to read a pattern, choose fabrics, measure, rotary cut, and piece your first two projects.
Set Two: Foe those who have started but are not yet confident.
Make your first lap/single quilt. 3 colour ways to choose from.
Learn some more of the basics and complete your first quilt. You will need to complete some work at home.
Set Three: Choose a quilt pattern yourself and let us help you complete the project
These classes are filling fast, so book quickly!

Two Lesson Stretch/Knit Sewing Class
Thursday 9 September and 23 September
Thursday 4 November and 11 November
Class Fee: $20 plus pattern and fabric
Just two lessons to teach you the basics of sewing stretch and knit fabrics. Bring your overlocker!
We will make a couple of quick garments to teach you basic rules and finishes.

Night Owls Hoot…Scrappy Log Cabin Quilt Samples in Store
Friday 3 September 2010… 6pm till late
Class Fee: $40 for this we can make up kits for you with fabrics of your
choice.
Tutor: Adrienne Nelson 5-6 hour class 6pm till late.
A fun filled evening with light refreshments and sewing like crazy!!!
Come and enjoy the company of other quilters while using up all
those bits and pieces from your stash for your scrappy log cabin quilt.
These quilts are very effective and would make a great Christmas gift
Kwik Purse Samples in Store
Saturday 4 September 2010… 9.30am-4pm
Class Fee: $50 plus pattern/materials

Join us for a whole day… bring your purse with you and leave with a
new one! Come and join in the fun for a day out with the girls.
Let your creative juices flow and enjoy lunch and coffee at one of
your choice of local cafes.

“Create a Bag” Morning and Evening Class (Beginners)
Monday 20 September 2010 10am-12.30pm & 7pm to 9.30pm
It’s another great beginners class… come and enjoy an afternoon or
evening creating a bag. It may just set you on a path to being a
hooked “Bag Lady” This is a great opportunity to make a basic bag
and then move on to some other techniques and inventions later.
The possibilities are endless and the cost minimal.
Class Fee: $15 plus basic kit $25.

Seascape (3D Coral Reef Picture) Book Early
Wednesday 3 & 17 November 2010 9.30am to 4.30pm
Class Fee: 2 day class over 2 days $85 plus materials Basic Starters Kit $69

Wow, what a class this is. Come and create a coral reef mounted on a canvas or framed use
paints, laces, braids, fabrics, beads and charms to build your seascape.
This class is a chance for all to have a go…you don’t have to be a sewer! No Machine Required.

so there may be a need to add finishing touches to your project at home.
Traditional Crazy Patch Class (Hand Work Class) Book Early
Saturday 11th September 2010 Examples in store
Class Fee: $40 plus pattern/
Tutor: Cheryl Chambers
Traditional Crazy Patchwork predominantly by hand. Learn how to lay your fabrics down – basic embroidery stitches make folded satin ribbon and silk ribbon, spider web, roses – basic beading, beaded tassels and more.
No Machine Required. You can choose your own project
E.g. cushion, glasses case, Christmas stocking, wall hanging etc
Note: As some class members may be faster than others there may be a need to add finishing touches to your project at home. You may also wish to embellish your work with extra materials.
Beginners Stained Glass Table Runner
Saturday 25 September or 2 October 2010
Class Fee: $40 plus pattern/materials kit $75 (includes a10%discount)
Tutor: Michelle Lawton
A great class to begin to learn the basic techniques
to complete stained glass projects.
You will need to do the tracing before class and we can
help guide you. You will need a sewing machine and a twin
needle to complete this exciting and rewarding class.
(Class machines are available for those who do not have one)
Advanced Dragonfly Wall Hanging 2 Day Class
Saturday 30 October and Saturday 6 November 2010
Class Fee: $35 plus pattern/materials
We can make up a kit for you, fabric of your choice.

A great class to develop your skills and complete this amazing project.
You will need a sewing machine and a twin needle to complete this exciting and rewarding class.
Children’s Classes
Initial interest in being taken in children’s classes. The following will be offered if registrations are adequate.
School Holiday Craft Programme 10 to 14 years 27 September – 1 October
10 am to 12pm each day small and interesting projects with fabric using combinations of glues, hand sewing and simple machine stitching. Machines will be supplied.
Cost $15 per lesson including materials or $70 for the whole week
including materials.
After School Learn to Sew Classes for Intermediate to 15 years old.
6 lessons a term from 3.30pm to 5.30pm on Mondays.
Term fee $60 plus materials. Sewing machines can be made available.
First Term make a bag and a simple cushion. Second term make a simple garment.
Mother and Daughter Saturday Afternoon Classes 1pm to 3pm
Come and enjoy time together and create some simple Christmas projects, all levels and ages welcome. Starting Term 4, 9 October and 23 October 2010
Class fee $40 plus basic kits $19 per week. This cost covers both people.
